Op vakantie? meld het de Guardia Civil

This is a message from the Frailes’ Neighbourhood Watch

We met with the local representative of the Guardia Civil and the lieutenant informed us that overall rates for break-ins were lower in the Frailes area than in places such as Aspe and Novelda. It appears that our working together to report suspicious activities and cars is having an effect in deterring criminals from the area.

A growing problem that the Guardia have now is the number of squatters moving into empty properties. So please look out for any property that may be vulnerable to this and report any activity that is unusual. As in most countries once squatters are in it is time consuming and expensive to remove them.

Please continue to report any concerns you have to the police. If you do not report any cut fences or fuses taken out, etc, then the police think that all is well.

At the moment Frailes and the surrounding villages have a dedicated Guardia patrol and they will, if informed, check your home when you are on vacation. They will not enter your house unless the house has been broken into. To receive this service you need to do the following:

Email the Guardia at:

a-pto-aspe@guardiacivil.org

Include in the email the following:

Your name, address and phone numbers
Date of departure and the return date
The name of your key holder and their contact phone number
A photo of the front of your house
A copy of google maps showing your house and its GPS
Thank you for your continuing efforts.
