Meer info over de walking group op: https://hondonwalkinggroup.wordpress.com/welcome/

Day: Friday Date: 26th May Time: 10.00am

Distance: Km 12.50 Height gain: 560m Est’d Duration: 3hrs 30 mins.

Est’d Difficulty*: More demanding end of Moderate, but only because of the length. I am assured that the walking is technically easy, with one more difficult descent.

RV Location: The car parking area by the sports fields of Hondón de las Nieves, Paseo Juan Bonmati, plenty of parking along the road. (38.306462°N -0.857933° W) Also, the restaurant mentioned below for lunch opens at 09.00 so if you fancy a coffee or even breakfast before the walk the opportunity is there.

Walk Description: This is a new walk for our group. From the RV we walk 0.72Km through the village to the start of the walk proper, then we walk out on a spur to reach the circular walk. This section of the walk is on tarmac toads and last for about 2.25Km before we get onto unmade roads. Then most of the walk is on rough tracks until we return to the made up roads for the final return to the cars on metalled roads. Our walk leader for this walk will be Cees van Steen, who may be contacted on: cwvansteen@hotmail.com if you have any queries.

Lunch: Lunch is available in the Restaurante Deportivo de Hondón de las Nieves, which is adjacent to where the cars are parked! Menu del Día € 8.00. If you would like to take lunch please book with Cees, cwvansteen@hotmail.com, by 17.00 on Tuesday the 23rd. (Some of us ate there after the walk on the 12th and found the restaurant and the food to be more than acceptable.)

Equipment: Walking boots providing ankle support recommended and a stick or pole if you feel uncomfortable on loose footings. As ever, your personal water supply and first aid kit and protective clothing if required by the weather.

Dogs: Dogs accompanied by well-behaved owners welcome.

Please remember that you walk at your own risk.
